Mohsin Naqvi (1947 - 1996)
was a modern Urdu poet and a Ghazal writer popular in Pakistan, India and with Urdu poetry lovers all over the world. He came from humble roots in the under developed South Punjab city of Dera Ghazi Khan.
He was gunned down by unknown assailants at his residence in Lahore either as a result of the Shia-Sunni Islamic sect "gang war" that has been plaguing Pakistan for many decades or at the hands of Taliban terrorists after he spoke out against the anti-Islamic, fanatical and anti-human ideology being promoted by the Taliban.
