Munir Niazi: Music Videos of his Urdu Ghazals
Munir Niazi (1928 - 2006) was a flamboyant modern Urdu poet whose mastery of narrative poetry combined with his unique Urdu diction and zest for imagistic poetry led him to create poetry which carried the unmistakable stamp of his soul.
Dareechah has also uploaded two videos of rare interviews with
Munir Niazi in a new web page "Munir Niazi: Interview Videos" in the Urdu Poems section)
This modern Urdu ghazal was written by Munir Niazi (one of the top 5 modern Urdu poets) in the 1960s and published in his second collection of poetry, Jungle mein Dhanak, from Lahore, Pakistan.
This Urdu ghazal was composed and sung by Hussain Buksh Gulloo, a foremost ghazal singer of Pakistan. Many of my YouTube channel subscribers had requested that I find the original mp3 file of this entire ghazal as sung by Ustad Hussain Buksh Gulloo. I was not successful in my search. However, parts of this ghazal were present in an interview broadcast on Geo TV network by Khawar Hussain Hashmi and so I have pieced together this video of the rendition of this ghazal by this singer. I hope you will enjoy it. The Urdu text of this ghazal follows at the end of the video and is also copied below.
